Putting team spirit at the heart of business

BG Kazakhstan hosted the second Challenge Cup on 11^th October. The corporate football league attracted over 120 employees from peer oil and gas companies, with the competition itself being a mixture of some exciting football matches and cheerleading in a popular American sports style. The event offered a good opportunity to enhance BG Kazakhstan’s stakeholder relations in a fun and engaging setting.

This year our event attracted teams from partner companies who work jointly on the development of the giant Karachaganak field, including teams from PSA LLP representing the Government of Kazakhstan, Agip Karachaganak, KazMunaiGas Karachaganak, BG Kazakhstan and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. The French major Total provided a football team as well as a cheerleading team to support the event.

Peter Brock, VP Commercial, opening the BG Kazakhstan Challenge CUP said: “It is a great pleasure for BG Kazakhstan to welcome our partners to the second BG Kazakhstan Challenge CUP! This event brings together our industry partners in a spirit of warmth and friendship and we hope that this event will become a good tradition, as these events show that wherever we are from, we all share the universal language of striving for excellence through sport.”

The event was a great success, Total won the main trophy securing a victory in a series of after-match penalties, and the Cheerleaders Cup was won by the KPO cheerleading team.
