“Today we laid the foundation for the Severnoye field expansion project, which is in line with our strategy to strengthen Qatar’s position as a global liquefied natural gas producer and enhance its pioneering role in meeting the needs of the global energy market,” the Emir of Qatar wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter ).
According to the company’s estimates, the expansion of the Severnoye field will increase the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by more than 60% – from 77 million to 126 million tons per year. The project is due to be completed in 2027.
North – South Pars is a giant oil and gas field with an area of 9,700 square meters. km.
