  • RACS-CERBA 15th International Conference: Russian-Canadian Relations: From Economics to Culture

    CERBA is happy to be a partner of Russian Association for Canadian Studies (RACS) in the organization of RACS 15th International Conference, which will take place on October 11-12, 2018 in Moscow in the Conference Hall of the Institute of the USA and Canada.

    Participation in the conference for CERBA Members is free of charge.

    If your schedule does not allow you to participate in the entire program, you are welcome to attend the workshops of your choice.

    The first day (Thursday, October 11) of the Conference will be devoted exclusively to economics and business themes including Northern and Arctic issues, the appropriate themes include but are not limited to the following: promoting peace and security in the Arctic, developing natural resources, providing economic prosperity in the North, improving Aboriginal life, protecting the natural environment, learning from Northern cultural heritage, and enlarging international cooperation in the North and Arctic.

    The second day (Friday, October 12) will focus on discussion in variety of areas covering the themes of domestic social policies, and science and cultural developments in Canada. Additional themes relevant to Canadian Studies (Canadian history, literature, etc.) are also considered.

    About RACS:

    Russian Association for Canadian Studies was founded by the leading experts in Canadian studies from the Institute of the USA and Canada, and is affiliated with the International Council for Canadian Studies (Canada) being the full-fledged member of both the World and European Associations for Canadian Studies.

    The association is headed by its President Tatyana R. Kuzmina, PhD, and renowned Academic Sergei Rogov as an Honourary President and Scientific Leader.

    Currently RACS is the only scientific NGO in the Russian Federation that unites all the Russian scholars specializing on Canada. RACS has chapters in many cities and universities of Russia guiding the research in various aspects of Canadian life by many scholars and experts in Saint-Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Vladivostok and many other cities.

    RACS members take an active part in the research academic activities of the International council for Canadian Studies (Ottawa) and international conferences that bring together  the best specialists in Canadian Studies all over the world.

    Jointly with the Institute of the USA and Canada and the Institute of the world history at the Russian Academy of Sciences, RACS publishes 2 different magazines devoted to Canadian Studies – Canada Annual Magazine and The Canadian Studies in Russia and Abroad.
