  • RDCR 2020 – The Official “Back 2 Business” Conference for the Russian Drilling & Production Sector

The global economy is currently facing an unprecedented challenge, and the hydrocarbon industry is reeling from low oil prices. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, industry events around the world are being cancelled or postponed until 2021. All of us have had to adapt to new ways of working and gathering – and the health and wellbeing of our Staff, Delegates and Service Providers is of course always our prime consideration. Here at TMG Worldwide however, we believe that now, more than ever, is the time to connect the leading industry figures to face the challenges head on and plan the path forward. Neftegaz have recently announced they will cancel their 2020 event and will start again in 2021 which leaves Russia without any major oil and gas exhibition in 2020.

Working with all of our partners, and with a dedicated team in Moscow, we are committed to bringing you RDCR 2020 before the start of winter 2020. The industry looks forward to the RDCR every year – not only to share success stories and address key industry challenges, but also to meet with old friends and colleagues at the leading gathering of drilling and production specialists in Russia. The technical sessions will address key issues such as cost saving though the use of innovative drilling and production technology, and panel members will debate how the industry will move forward during these uncertain times. You can download the agenda here.

As you are all aware, we initially postponed RDCR 2020 until June 26th. We are keen to host the event as soon as it is safe and prudent to do so, though as we get closer to the new date, it has become clear that we must revise this. The situation is improving at different rates in different territories, and Moscow is due to ease its lockdown restrictions at the beginning of June. The organising committee, working closely with all of our partners, will monitor this phase closely and announce a new confirmed date for RDCR 2020 following a 2 week review of developments.

With the global impact of COVID-19 on the world economy it is essential that businesses focus on cost saving initiatives and maximising revenue streams where they can. The RDCR has always provided maximum value to those who are looking to meet senior decision makers within Russia’s drilling and production sector and this year’s event will offer even more value due to the extremely limited opportunity for you to be face to face with your clients.

    Why attend the RDCR?

    • Leading annual event for the Russian D&P sector
    • Excellent delegate audience
    • Involvement from all the major operators
    • Attendance from all major regional drilling contractors
    • Technical paper presentations
    • Limited opportunity to meet your clients in 2020
    • No other upstream event in Russia offers you the level and range of senior decision makers

Can you afford to miss out?

Paul Seed, Director of the organising company TMG Worldwide, noted –

As a responsible event organiser, the health and safety of attendees across all of our events is paramount. At whatever time we host RDCR 2020, measures will be put in place to abide by any social distancing regulations currently in force, and we will also work with our venue partner to provide ample hand sanitisers, masks and other mandated PPE.

The Global Oil and Gas industry is used to the cyclical nature of oil prices and has come through tough periods many times before. In recent years, the Russian market has shown outstanding resilience in the face of US/EU Sanctions as well as a broader changing landscape. Operators have been forced to adapt budgets to lower oil prices, with drilling, service and technology suppliers in turn having to find ways to reduce service costs. The focus of the RDCR has always been increasing efficiency in drilling and production operations and now, more than ever, we must continue to look at ways to cut operational costs. All our attendees recognise that Russia is the largest land drilling market in the world, and attending RDCR is the gateway to the multitude of opportunities that exist.

I would like to personally thank all of the sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and delegates who have, one and all, shown full commitment to RDCR 2020. This commitment is not only recognised by us as the organiser, but by the industry as a whole. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
