  • RN-Nyaganneftegaz Allocated 1.7 Billion Rubles for Environmental Projects in 2020

    The RN-Nyaganneftegaz company, which is part of the oil production complex of Rosneft, by the end of 2020, invested more than 1.7 billion rubles in environmental protection and nature restoration activities. The funds were used to implement the gas program, improve the reliability of pipelines, land reclamation and improve the efficiency of industrial waste disposal.

    Environmental preservation is an integral part of Rosneft’s corporate culture and activities. The company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimizing environmental impact and sustainability of production.

    For the disposal of drilling waste, the company uses modern technologies that have passed the state environmental examination. The secondary products obtained in the recycling process are sent for technological needs. For two years, Nyaganneftegaz has processed about 550 thousand tons of industrial waste, reclaimed more than 80 hectares of land. All stages of land reclamation are carried out using modern technology, agrotechnical and phytomeliorative methods are used to restore the soil cover.

    As a result of the gas program implementation, Nyaganneftegaz ensured a high level of rational use of associated petroleum gas – 95%.

    Thanks to the implementation of the program to improve the reliability of pipelines, Nyaganneftegaz in 2020 reduced the failure rate of the transport system by 12.2% compared to the same period in 2019. More than 60 kilometers of field pipelines have been replaced.

    In 2020, the company’s employees planted more than 280 thousand tree seedlings as part of the reforestation program. Siberian cedar pine and Scots pine are planted on the territory of 70 hectares in the Oktyabrsky district of Ugra. The enterprise made a significant contribution to the preservation and restoration of the cedar massifs of the Autonomous Okrug and was awarded the honorary title “Keeper of the Ugra cedar forests”. Since 2010, Nyaganneftegaz has planted more than 1.5 million seedlings on an area of ​​over 370 g.
