  • RN-Nyaganneftegaz Allocated More than 540 Million Rubles to Finance Environmental Projects in 2022

The RN-Nyaganneftegaz company, which is part of the Rosneft oil production complex, invested more than 540 million rubles in environmental protection and restoration measures in 2022. The funds were used to implement the gas program, the program to improve the reliability of pipelines, land reclamation and improve the efficiency of industrial waste disposal.

Preserving the environment for future generations is an integral part of Rosneft’s corporate culture and activities. The company aims to achieve a leadership position in the field of minimizing the impact on the environment and environmental friendliness of production.

In 2022, RN-Nyaganneftegaz fully completed the restoration of historical heritage lands, clearing 14 hectares. For reclamation, the enterprise uses modern methods and equipment that help to increase the efficiency of work in the natural and climatic conditions of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. Technical and biological measures for the reclamation of oil-contaminated lands of historical heritage are carried out using modern specialized equipment, using sorbents and biodestructors. In addition, the enterprise uses various agrotechnical and phytomeliorative methods aimed at recreating the flora and fauna of the district.

Also, last year, the company disposed of about 50 thousand tons of oily waste and about 114 thousand tons of drilling waste. Drilling waste at the enterprise is completely disposed of using modern technologies that have passed the state environmental review. The secondary products obtained in the process of recycling industrial oily waste are reused in the technological process.

At the fields of RN-Nyaganneftegaz, the level of greenhouse gases is constantly monitored using an unmanned complex. In 2022, UAVs spent more than 483 hours in the air, making 186 sorties and inspecting 11,691 km of pipelines. The use of UAVs ensures constant environmental monitoring throughout the enterprise’s fields in all weather conditions.

As part of the reforestation program in 2022, RN-Nyaganneftegaz specialists planted more than 1.4 million Scotch pine seedlings on an area of about 365 hectares, and released more than 1.6 million fry of valuable fish species into the waters of the Ob-Irtysh basin.
