  • RN-Uvatneftegaz: Starts Production Drilling at a New Field – Pikhtovye

The RN-Uvatneftegaz company, which is part of the oil and gas production block of NK Rosneft, has started production drilling at a new field – Pikhtovoye, whose recoverable reserves amount to 8.5 million tons of oil.

The reserves of the field are classified as hard-to-recover, for their development it is planned to use modern technologies and new approaches, including drilling horizontal wells with multistage (up to 19 stages) hydraulic fracturing. This will increase the productivity of the reservoirs.

The wells will be drilled from two well pads using new technologies – by the conveyor method, which at the Uvat project makes it possible to reduce the commissioning time for a group of wells and reduce the volume of drilling fluid used. Rotary steerable systems and logging while drilling will also be used for drilling horizontal sections.

The field will become part of the Tyamkinsky hub, the unified infrastructure of which allows LLC RN-Uvatneftegaz to consistently put into operation nearby satellite fields, reducing the costs of their construction and logistics.
