  • RN-Vankor Increased Well Flow Rate by 1.5 Times

The RN-Vankor company, which is part of the oil and gas production unit of NK Rosneft, increased the flow rate of a production well at the Vankor field by 1.5 times. It was possible to increase the reservoir productivity from 31 to 80 tons per day thanks to the use of our own modernized sidetracking technology. The economic effect of the project implementation amounted to about 120 million rubles per well.

The use of modern technologies for drilling and reconstruction of existing wells is one of the priorities of the Company’s development strategy. Rosneft pays special attention to innovation, identifying technological leadership as a key competitive factor in the oil market.

As part of the well productivity improvement program, RN-Vankor specialists upgraded the standard sidetracking technology, excluding the diverter from the well assembly (a mechanism that allows downhole operations in the main borehole). This solution makes it possible to multiply the efficiency of drilling operations.

In the near future, the second well will be drilled using the new technology at the Vankor field.
