RN-Yuganskneftegaz Produces 2.5 Billion tons of Oil

Since the beginning of field development in 1964, the oil workers of RN-Yuganskneftegaz have produced 2.5 billion tons of oil. This is 20% of all oil produced in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. This volume can be compared to a train of 36 million wagons that wrapped the globe more than 10 times.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz, the largest asset of Rosneft, is developing 39 license areas in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, with a total area of ​​over 21 thousand km2. These include such legendary fields as Mamontovskoye, Priobskoye, Malobalykskoye, Pravdinskoye, Prirazlomnoye, which are unique in terms of initial recoverable reserves.

The proven reserves of RN-Yuganskneftegaz in the ABC1 + C2 category exceed 2.8 billion tons.

For the period 2014-2020 RN-Yuganskneftegaz has more than quadrupled production of hard-to-recover reserves. Currently, about 50% of the company’s total production is produced from low-permeability reserves of the Achimov and Tyumen deposits. The share of horizontal wells drilling in 2020 amounted to more than 88%.

Achievement of high production rates is the result of intensive production drilling, successful implementation of a set of effective geological and technical measures, implementation of innovations and modern technologies.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz has invested 16 billion rubles in environmental protection and nature restoration activities in three years. The volume of expenses aimed at eliminating the accumulated damage over the past ten years amounted to more than 8 billion rubles. The enterprise implements a long-term program of measures for the protection and restoration of the environment, calculated for the period from 2019 to 2024. During this time, about 10 billion rubles will be spent on land reclamation. Since the beginning of the program, more than 2 thousand plots with a total area of ​​about 570 hectares have already been reclaimed.  

RN-Yuganskneftegaz uses the most advanced technologies in well drilling, such as, for example, rotary steerable systems with logging while drilling tools. As a result, the average drilling cycle for horizontal wells with a combined string decreased to 12.5 days, and the best result was 7.7 days.

In 2021, the company’s oil workers drilled the longest horizontal well with a length of 5256 meters and a horizontal section length of 2184 meters.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz is the leader in hydraulic fracturing among Rosneft enterprises. More than 5000 hydraulic fracturing operations are performed at the Company’s fields annually, including multi-stage (from 8 to 15 stages). Thanks to the application of the intensification technology in 2020, an additional increase in oil production was obtained by more than 5 million tons. 

To improve the efficiency of hydraulic fracturing operations, the company uses software developed by Rosneft specialists – RN-GRID. This unique product ensures the full technological independence of the Company from foreign counterparts in the field of engineering calculations for hydraulic fracturing.

The company is actively developing and successfully implementing measures to further expand the infrastructure and build up production capacity.
