  • RN-Yuganskneftegaz: Shortens Well Construction Period

RN-Yuganskneftegaz (a production asset of Rosneft) increased the ROP by an average of 5% compared to 2020 due to the modernization of drill bits. As a result, oilmen reduced the well construction period by 24 hours during production drilling and by more than 10 hours during sidetracking.

ROP depends on rock composition, directional drilling tasks, drilling parameters and can vary significantly for different types of wells. For each well, the optimal drilling equipment is selected to achieve the maximum ROP and shorten the construction cycle.

The Chupalsky license area achieved a maximum ROP of 96.51 m / h using a new five-blade bit design, which is 48% higher than the average for the facility. At the Ust-Balykskoye field, thanks to the use of a bicentric bit, a record ROP of 31.22 m / h was achieved, which is 13 m / h higher than the average for the field.

An individual approach to each well, the use of modern equipment designs, and the selection of optimal drilling parameters make it possible to shorten the construction cycle and increase drilling volumes. This year, RN-Yuganskneftegaz specialists plan to increase production drilling meterage by 1 million meters compared to 2020 (up to 5.8 million meters).
