  • Rosneft and CNPC Discussed the Implementation of Joint Production Projects

    The head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, and the chairman of the board of directors of CNPC, Dai Houlian, discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint production projects and cooperation in the technological field at the SPIEF, the Russian company said.

    “Igor Sechin and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Dai Houliang discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint production projects, as well as cooperation in the technological field,” she said in a statement.

    Rosneft became the first Russian company to sign long-term contracts with the Chinese side, including CNPC, for the supply of 325 million tons of oil by the end of the first half of 2038. From 2005 to 2022, cumulative supplies to China amounted to 442 million tons of oil. Additionally, in February 2022, Rosneft and CNPC signed a contract to supply 100 million tons of oil to China via Kazakhstan over 10 years.

    In 2018, Rosneft and CNPC signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of exploration and production in the Russian Federation. CNPC got the opportunity to acquire minority stakes in major oil and gas projects of Rosneft.

    The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) takes place on June 14-17. RIA Novosti is the media partner and host photo agency of the forum.
