Rosneft Celebrates 15 Years Since the Beginning of Commercial Oil Production at the Vankorskoye field
RN–Vankor (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex) celebrates the 15th anniversary of the commissioning of the Vankor field into commercial operation. Its development was the beginning of the creation of the Vankor cluster of fields, which today has become the basis of Vostok Oil, the largest investment project of the global oil and gas industry implemented by Rosneft in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The countdown of industrial oil production at Vankor has been going on since August 2009, when the solemn ceremony of putting the field into operation took place. Vankor gave a powerful start to the development of the economy and industrial potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which acquired the status of an oil-producing region.
Since the beginning of commercial operation, the accumulated oil production at the Vankor cluster of fields has exceeded 270 million tons of oil, and more than 50 billion m3 of commercial gas has been sent to the Unified Gas Transportation System of the country.
Active development of hydrocarbon deposits in Eastern Siberia began with Vankor. It became the first large-scale oil and gas project in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In a short time, in the conditions of complete lack of infrastructure, a powerful industrial center was created.
Since 2013, Rosneft has started a cluster method of developing nearby fields united by a single infrastructure. The Vankor cluster includes the Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye deposits.
High-tech technologies, advanced environmental standards and breakthrough engineering solutions have become the basis for the successful development of the Vankor project. The field is an innovative platform for the introduction of advanced developments. Currently, the rich experience and technical solutions tested at Vankor are in demand during the implementation of the Vostok Oil project.
