  • Rosneft Driltec B2 Drilling Fluids Have Increased Standard Shelf Life

Specialists of RN-Lubricants and the Scientific Research Institute for Storage Problems of Rosrezerv jointly carried out work to extend the shelf life of the high-tech base for drilling fluids Rosneft Driltec B2.

Previously, the standard shelf life of solutions in consumer warehouses was considered a period of up to one year, which limited the possibilities of logistics and product operation. Based on the results of the work carried out, a conclusion was made on the stability of the level of physical and chemical properties and the extension of the shelf life up to three years of the unique in its technical characteristics base for drilling fluids “Rosneft Driltec B2”.

The assessment of the stability level of the base for drilling fluids “Rosneft Driltec B2” was carried out according to the method developed by the Federal State Budgetary Institution NIIPH Rosrezerva, which includes an assessment of the rate of change in the kinetic characteristics of various quality indicators during accelerated aging of the test sample at elevated temperatures in contact with container materials.

Rosneft Drilltec B2 hydrocarbon base improves drilling efficiency and reduces environmental impact. Oil-based drilling fluids with low plastic viscosity are used for drilling long horizontal wells.

Joint research by FGBU NIIPH Rosrezerva and LLC RN-Lubricants provide an opportunity to develop innovative experimental methods that allow to reliably assess and establish storage times for modern lubricants of various functional purposes, which expands the possibilities of their use in the interests of consumers.
