Rosneft: Expands the Oil-Bearing Capacity for the Zapadno-Irkinskoye Field
In the course of comprehensive geological studies, Rosneft expanded the distribution of oil-bearing strata at the site within the West Irkinskoye field, which is part of the Vostok Oil project. In the process of drilling the Zapadno-Irkinskaya-32 well, more than 50 meters of potentially oil-saturated rocks were uncovered, and about 100 meters of core were taken. At present, the results obtained are being evaluated and the volumes of reserves are being updated to expand the resource base of the Vostok Oil project. Well testing continues.
The unique Zapadno-Irkinskoye field was discovered in 2020 on the Taimyr Peninsula in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Recoverable oil reserves are over 500 million tons and 138 billion cubic meters of dissolved gas in the C1 + C2 category.
In June 2021, the Company started drilling two new wells – Zapadno-Irkinskaya-54 and Zapadno-Irkinskaya-32, located on the left bank of the Yenisei. To clarify the location of new prospecting and exploration wells in the Zapadno-Irkinsky area, 3D seismic surveys in the amount of 500 km2 were previously carried out. By the end of this year, it is planned to start drilling three more wells located on the right bank of the Yenisei.
The comprehensive exploration program of the Vostok Oil project for 2022 provides for the drilling of 11 and re-testing of 6 exploration wells, as well as the performance of 2D seismic works in the amount of about 3 thousand linear meters. km., and by the 3D method – about 2 thousand km2.
