  • Rosneft Has Developed a “Green” Technology for Processing Drilling Waste

The production assets of the Company Samaraneftegaz, Orenburgneft and RN-Krasnodarneftegaz have successfully implemented a waste-free and environmentally friendly technology for processing drilling waste.

A unique and unparalleled development in the world by Rosneft scientists allows for the production of artificial soil from drilling mud and works even at low temperatures – down to minus 40°C.

Preserving the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture and one of the key principles of Rosneft. The Company is implementing a number of programs aimed at minimizing the negative impact on the environment and improving the environmental friendliness of production.

The innovative technology is based on the use of a sorbent, also developed by the Company’s scientists. The product neutralizes pollutants contained in drilling waste.

Artificial soil obtained as a result of recycling drilling mud is an environmentally friendly material that can be used in various areas of engineering and economic activities of enterprises.
