Rosneft has Developed Software for Analysing the Properties of Hydrocarbons
Specialists of the scientific institute “RN-BashNIPIneft” have developed a software package for calculating the physical and chemical properties of hydrocarbons. This is an import-substituting IT product integrated into the corporate line of science-intensive software of Rosneft. The economic effect of its implementation is 250 million rubles.
Development of technological potential and digitalization of business processes is a priority in the Company’s activities. Rosneft has created and is developing a line of its own software in the field of geology and field development. Now the line of science-intensive software consists of 23 software products, of which 14 are implemented in Rosneft, 9 are under development and trial operation, 10 software products are commercialized and available for purchase.
The complex automatically calculates the physical and chemical properties of oil and gas based on the results of laboratory studies and field data. These properties include, for example, viscosity, density, saturation pressure, volume expansion coefficient of hydrocarbons. These and other parameters must be taken into account when calculating the reserves at the design stage of the development of facilities. Calculations are also used in the creation of digital models of gas and gas condensate fields with a complex component composition in the preparation of design and technological documentation.
The unique features of the IT product include the calculation of the condensate-gas ratio, which shows the content of condensate in a cubic meter of produced gas. This parameter is necessary to take into account the volume of production of such valuable components for the industry as propane, butane, ethylene, etc. In addition, it uses methods for calculating the properties of oil and gas, which are uniform with other software of the corporate line. These advantages allow you to make informed and cost-effective decisions in the field development.
