Rosneft has Launched a Project for the Construction of an Oil Loading Terminal in the Port of Bukhta Sever
In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, PJSC NK Rosneft is launching a project to build an oil loading terminal at the port of Bukhta Sever. The work is being carried out within the framework of the locomotive project of the Vostok Oil Company. A leading team of specialists from the United Energy Construction Corporation arrived on the Taimyr Peninsula to organize the construction. Ice-class ships delivered about 20 thousand tons of cargo to Taimyr, including heavy construction equipment, rotational housing complexes, communication equipment, as well as materials for the arrangement of shift camps.
The Bukhta Sever port project, developed by the country’s leading design institute LenmorNIIproekt, has passed all the necessary examinations. The next step will be the construction of hydraulic structures, storage facilities for material and technical resources and berthing facilities on the Yenisei Bay.
The first stage of the port construction provides for the possibility of shipping oil up to 30 million tons per year. By 2030, after the implementation of the second and third stages of construction, the volume of oil transshipment will increase to 100 million tons.
Vostok Oil is the largest project not only for the Russian, but also for the world economy. The resource base is over 6 billion tons of premium low-sulfur oil. At the same time, Vostok Oil is a project with a minimum carbon footprint, accounting for only a quarter of the global average for new large projects. Wind power and associated petroleum gas will be used to supply power to the Vostok Oil facilities.
The implementation of the Vostok Oil project will help to develop the unique resource potential of the region. The project’s competitive advantage is its proximity to the Northern Sea Route. Its use opens up the possibility of supplying raw materials from the Vostok Oil fields in two directions at once: to the European and Asian markets. The implementation of the project will ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set by the President of Russia to increase the cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route to 80 million tons by 2024.
