Rosneft: Increases Vostok Oil Prooven Reserves with Gushing Well
Geologists of Vostok Oil, the largest oil and gas project of NK Rosneft, during geological exploration at the Lodochny field, proved the oil saturation of the Nizhnekhetskaya suite and justified its inclusion in the main development targets. The exploration well received a gushing flow of waterless oil with a flow rate of 225 m3 per day, which is significantly higher than the average rate of new wells in Russia. The data obtained will make it possible to subsequently increase the proven reserves of the field.
Rosneft has been conducting exploration work at the Lodochny area since 2014. During this time, 7 prospecting and exploration wells were drilled, 3D seismic surveys were carried out in the amount of 490 km2. Based on the results of exploration, the initial recoverable reserves of the Lodochnoe field were increased from 31 to 78 million tons of oil and condensate (as of 01/01/2021).
Additional exploration of the Lodochnoye field is part of a comprehensive geological exploration program of the Vostok Oil project, within the framework of which 3D seismic exploration work has already been carried out in the amount of 500 km2 this year, the construction of three prospecting and exploration wells has been completed, and eight wells are being drilled and tested.
Geological exploration work in the licensed areas of the Vostok Oil project will continue next year. It is planned to carry out 2D and 3D seismic surveys, and drill exploratory wells.
