Rosneft is Developing Technologies for the Construction and Reconstruction of Wells
Rosneft held a scientific and practical conference “Engineering for construction and reconstruction of wells” in Samara. The main goal of the event is to find solutions to current technological problems, identify new innovative approaches and introduce best practices to improve the production efficiency of drilling engineering.
As a leader in the development of modern domestic technologies in oil and gas production, the Company regularly holds conferences in various areas of activity, within the framework of which it consolidates and replicates the best ideas and practices for the comprehensive development of the domestic oil industry.
The conference brought together more than 200 representatives of Russian and Belarusian industrial enterprises, as well as research institutes.
One of the key topics of the conference was the development of automation and robotization of processes, development and implementation of domestic software. Thus, specialists from the Rosneft Scientific Institute in Samara have developed an information system to optimize the control and management of current and major repairs of wells. The developed Web application makes it possible to provide operational information on the progress of work in real time.
Specialists from the Rosneft Scientific Institute in Ufa spoke about the new RN-Drilling Calculations software package, which is currently being tested at the Company’s enterprises. The software includes a full set of tools for constructing and analyzing well trajectories, modeling processes during drilling and tripping operations, and cementing processes. The introduction of the RN-Drilling Calculations software package into commercial operation and launch on the foreign market is planned for next year.
Specialists from the Orenburgneft Company subsidiary shared the results of successful tests of an automatic complex for collecting, analyzing and processing data that operates in wells without an operator. The technological solution will improve the efficiency of well construction by 13% compared to traditional methods, as well as the safety of work during drilling and completion of wells.
