Rosneft Opened an Onshore Drilling Competence Center at Tyumen Industrial University
Rosneft has opened an Onshore Drilling Competence Center at Tyumen Industrial University. The new unique training platform provides opportunities for comprehensive training of specialists in drilling and well workover.
The Center includes five specialized classrooms equipped with modern Russian simulator systems. The equipment simulates real drilling conditions and fully reproduces the workplaces of a driller and assistant driller, as well as engineering and technical personnel. All multimedia solutions are developed by domestic companies, ensuring technological independence and compliance with current industry standards.
The simulators enable the development and improvement of skills in tripping operations, choke application, organization of surface equipment operations, and coordination of drilling crews during drilling activities. Trainees will be able to practice more than 30 real scenarios in various geological conditions.
Each year, students of the university, as well as employees of Rosneft subsidiaries and specialized service companies, will undergo training and advanced qualification at the Competence Center.
Organizational support for the project was provided by RN-Uvatneftegaz (part of Rosneft). The company’s specialists actively participated in developing the Center’s concept, testing simulator systems, and shaping the educational programmes based on current production needs.
As part of the Rosneft 2030 strategy, the Company supports state initiatives aimed at developing the education system and human capital. Rosneft not only invests in the creation of unique educational centers but also develops professional standards by integrating advanced scientific developments into the training process.
