Rosneft Planted Over 1.5 million Trees in 2020
At the end of 2020, the Company and its subsidiaries planted more than 1.5 million seedlings of various types of trees.
Every year on March 21, the world celebrates the International Day of Forests, established by the UN General Assembly in 2012. In 2021, its main theme was “Reforestation: The Way to Overcome Crisis and Prosperity.” Reforestation and sustainable management play a key role in combating climate change.
Rosneft regularly carries out large-scale work to ensure environmental safety, preserve and restore natural resources. Since one of the priorities for the Company is the fight against climate change, much attention is paid to the preservation and restoration of forests.
In total, more than 60 subsidiaries of Rosneft Oil Company took part in planting seedlings in 2020. The largest contribution to the results of the landing campaign was made by LLC RN-Uvatneftegaz, LLC RN-Yuganskneftegaz, JSC RN-Nyaganneftegaz, LLC Bashneft-Dobycha, PJSC Varyeganneftegaz, JSC ANPZ VNK, JSC Samotlorneftegaz , PJSC NK Rosneft-Dagneft and LLC RN-Komsomolsk Oil Refinery.
In total, over the past three years, the Company has planted over 3.5 million seedlings.
Preserving the environment for future generations is an integral part of Rosneft’s corporate culture. The Company sees its main task in improving the environmental friendliness of production and minimizing the impact on the environment.
