Rosneft Produced 61.2 Million Tonnes of Hydrocarbons in Q1 2025
Rosneft’s hydrocarbon production in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 61.2 million tonnes of oil equivalent, which is 8.1% lower than the level in January-March 2024. This information comes from the company’s Q1 2025 results, prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Liquid hydrocarbon production in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 44.6 million tonnes, 5.3% lower than in the same period in 2024.
“The dynamics of this indicator were influenced by abnormal weather conditions in Central Russia and oil production restrictions in accordance with decisions of the Russian government,” the company noted.
Development drilling footage in Q1 2025 exceeded 2.8 million meters, with more than 0.6 thousand new wellscommissioned, 76% of which were horizontal, Rosneft added.
Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin explained that in Q1 2025, the company operated under conditions of a deteriorating macroeconomic environment, including a decline in the price of Russian Urals oil, widening discounts, new sanctions, and a strengthening ruble.
Refining
In January-March 2025, Rosneft processed 19.5 million tonnes of oil in Russia, 2% lower than in January-March last year. “The dynamics of refining volumes are due to the optimization of refinery loading, taking into account the prevailing pricing environment and demand, as well as the need for repair and recovery work. The refining depthincreased to 75.9%, and the yield of light oil products rose to 59.9%,” the company reported.
Rosneft also stated that in Q1 2025, it sold 9.8 million tonnes of oil products on the domestic market, including 3.2 million tonnes of gasoline and 3.8 million tonnes of diesel fuel, and sold 2.2 million tonnes of gasoline and diesel fuel on the commodity exchange (SPIMEX), 1.7 times higher than the standard.
