Rosneft Produced the 140 Millionth Ton of Oil at the Uvat Project
The accumulated production of RN-Uvatneftegaz (part of the oil production complex of NK Rosneft) has reached 140 million tons of oil since the start of operation of the fields of the Uvat project. This result was achieved through the development of production infrastructure, the commissioning of new fields, and the introduction of modern, including digital, technologies.
RN-Uvatneftegaz is a key enterprise of Rosneft in the Tyumen region, whose fields have been developed since 2001. RN-Uvatneftegaz is one of the largest subsoil users, taxpayers and employers in the south of the Tyumen region. It accounts for more than 80% of the region’s oil production.
The total area of licensed areas located in the Tyumen region and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra is more than 25 thousand square meters. km. The operating stock exceeds 1,650 wells, and the length of pipelines is 1,160 km.
To effectively develop deposits in hard-to-reach marshy areas, the Uvat project used a strategy to create hubs – centers with a single infrastructure, which are joined by smaller satellite deposits. Currently, there are four hubs in Uvat: Ust-Tegussky, Protozanovsky, Tyamkinsky and Kalchinsky, the infrastructure of which is constantly expanding.
The project included the construction of two central oil collection points, two oil pumping stations, and five chemical and analytical testing laboratories. The use of a single infrastructure creates a synergistic effect and increases the economic efficiency of field operation.
In 2024, the company launched a new field, Severo-Nemchinovskoye, into commercial operation and began creating infrastructure for the development of the Tavricheskoye field. The commissioning of new fields in Central Uvat is of fundamental importance for the development of the entire project and maintaining the level of oil production achieved by the enterprise in the medium term.
Thanks to successful geological exploration work carried out in 2023 – drilling prospecting and appraisal wells and performing 3D seismic, the replenishment of oil production at the Uvat project exceeded 200%.
RN-Uvatneftegaz widely uses digital technologies, which ensure a high level of industrial safety. The Sphere 3D information technology system contains more than 3,000 digital models of objects and more than 9,000 models of vehicles and allows you to make prompt and effective decisions in the process of oil production, maintaining reservoir pressure, and energy use.
RN-Uvatneftegaz pays special attention to caring for the environment. The enterprise carries out systematic work on reforestation and conservation of aquatic biological resources in the region. Over the past five years, RN-Uvatneftegaz has planted more than 5 million pine and spruce seedlings, and also released more than 7 million juveniles of valuable fish species into the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin.
RN-Uvatneftegaz pays special attention to supporting scientific research in the field of environmental conservation and environmental education work. At the expense of the enterprise, an expedition was carried out in the valley of the Irtysh River in the Uvat region, during which the condition of the populations of 10 rare species of animals was assessed. RN-Uvatneftegaz is also implementing a long-term program to preserve the reindeer population in the Tyumen region.
As part of the current agreement between Rosneft and the region, RN-Uvatneftegaz annually implements charitable projects to create a favorable environment for living, education and raising children. With the participation of RN-Uvatneftegaz, 7 computer and robotics classes have been opened in secondary schools in the region. This year, a laboratory for biotechnology and gene diagnostics was created at the Physics and Mathematics School of Tyumen, for which modern high-tech equipment was purchased.
The implementation of the Uvat project is ensured by more than 2.7 thousand employees of the enterprise and more than 7 thousand employees of contractors. Following the principles of high social responsibility, RN-Uvatneftegaz creates conditions for comfortable living at fields, including autonomous ones. Currently, at the largest asset of the project – the field named after. Malyka – the construction of a second residential complex for 122 people is being completed, which will be equipped with a medical center, a library, and a gym. The company has repeatedly received awards from the “Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency” competition, including for the creation and development of jobs.
The enterprise also interacts with indigenous peoples living in the Uvat region, promoting the preservation of their culture and way of life.
