Rosneft Spoke About Plans for the Development of Vostok Oil Fields
Rosneft plans to drill 12 thousand production wells at new fields of the Vostok Oil project until 2038, and will use domestic drilling rigs for this, said Andrey Polyakov, vice president and chief geologist of the company.
“A program of pilot work on new fields in Taimyr was launched in 2022. These are the most promising fields with a huge resource base, which will make a major contribution to the implementation of the Vostok Oil project in terms of production. It is planned to drill about 12 thousand production wells here. Will be involved 100 of the latest Russian-developed drilling rigs, which are designed and constructed specifically for the complex, harsh conditions of Taimyr,” Polyakov said during the presentation of the Vostok Oil project at the Rosneft exposition as part of the Russia exhibition.
Polyakov’s presentation clarifies that Rosneft plans to drill this volume of wells at new fields of the project until 2038.
In 2022, the company began pilot development of the Irkinskoye and Payakhskoye fields, in April of this year – the Ichemminskoye field, and in July – the Baikalovskoye field.
Vostok Oil is the flagship project of Rosneft, located in Taimyr. It includes the already developed fields of the Vankor group and new fields in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The resource base of the project is estimated at 6.5 billion tons of liquid hydrocarbons.
The international exhibition and forum “Russia” at VDNKh opened on November 4. The exhibition will run until April 12, 2024. It is attended by 89 regions, 22 federal executive authorities (ministries, as well as the Federal Agency for State Reserves), 20 companies, corporations and public organizations, with a total of 131 expositions.
