Rosneft Starts Flights from Norilsk Airport as Part of the Vostok Oil Project
Rosneft aircraft began operating flights from Norilsk airport to deliver shift workers to the facilities under construction of the Vostok Oil project. Air traffic is carried out along the route Norilsk – Dikson – “Sever Bay”, as well as in other directions.
An additional 22 Rosneft aircrafts have been involved in aviation services for Vostok Oil. A site at the Alykel airport in Norilsk was selected for their deployment. All aircraft have a modern modification and meet international safety standards. Among the main requirements are the ability to operate at low temperatures, the equipment with modern avionics and navigation equipment.
Significant renewal of the aircraft fleet is a key priority for the Company in ensuring the safety of air transportation in the Far North.
New helicopters are already delivering rotational teams from the Igarka airport to the facilities of the Vankor cluster, which is part of the Vostok Oil project. Modern aircraft operate on the route Krasnoyarsk – Igarka – Krasnoyarsk.
From 2022, it is planned to use 43 units of aircraft – 33 new helicopters and 10 aircraft – to organize air transportation to the fields of the Vostok Oil project.
