  • RusGazBurenie and Schlumberger Sign MOU

    An agreement was signed on the 18-th of March 2021 in Moscow.

    RusGazBurenie LLC and Schlumberger have partnered together with a Memorandum of Understanding for technological cooperation. The document was signed by Ilkam Mukhametshin, General Director of RusGazBurenie, and Yuri Pankov, RUL Managing Director.

    The new agreement is a logical progression to the 3-year collaboration on technically complex projects such as the Yuzhno-Russkoe and Semakovskoe gas fields.

    As a result of this collaboration, a new record was set at well #1208 in the Semakovskoe field. The longest ERD well (Extreme Reach – with an ERD ratio of 3,46) in the Cenomanian deposit was completed in March 2021. This achievement was a result of the effective teamwork, cooperation and coordinated between the engineering teams of RusGazBurenie, RusGasAlliance, as a the project operator, and Schlumberger’s Well Construction, Digital & Integration and Production Systems divisions.

    The two companies will collaborate further on the up coming projects at the Kharasavey, Kovykta and the 2nd phase of the Semakovskoe field.

    RusGazBurenie LLC is an independent drilling contractor and service company providing IPM and turn key well construction services for the largest oil & gas Operators in Russia.

    The company was founded in 2018 and so far has completed 7 IPM projects (28 rigs), 5 turnkey projects (16 rigs) and operates 2 hydraulic fracturing fleets.

    In 3 years of collaboration with Schlumberger:

    • 5 joint projects
    • Main projects: the Yuzhno-Russkoye gas condensate field and the Semakovskoye gas field;
    • Over 100 wells drilled (of which 9 were ERD wells);
    • Zero Health and Safety lost tine incidents;
    • Drilling optimization service has been in operation for over a year with cost savings in the double digit millions of rubles range, with hundreds of drilling and NPT hours avoided.
