  • Russia Will Focus on Deep-Sea Oil and Gas Production

Russia will focus on deep-sea oil and gas production in the coming decades, since only it can ensure the required level of production in the country, said the head of Rosnedra, Evgeny Petrov.

“We know that all life came out of the sea. But we, on the contrary, in the coming years, in the coming decades, will go to the sea, because only deep-sea oil and gas production will give us the opportunity to achieve the required level of production,” Petrov said, speaking at the Day of Russian Subsoil Use as part of the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh.

He added that now in the international arena there is also “a powerful struggle for access to solid minerals” that are located at the bottom of the World Ocean. The international exhibition and forum “Russia” takes place on the territory of VDNKh in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
