RussNeft Will Resume Work at the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Field, Which Was Closed Due to Sanctions
RussNeft will begin developing the Vostochno-Kamnoye field in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, which was suspended in 2023 due to sanctions and the economic crisis. The head of the Khanty-Mansiysk branch of the company, Alexey Shatalov, shared his plans for drilling new wells.
“At the Vostochno-Kamenny field, work on industrial development is starting, which was postponed due to the crisis situation at the beginning of 2023. Over the course of the year, it is planned to build 24 wells, which will produce about 130 thousand tons of oil, these figures can be adjusted,” Shatalov said in the corporate newspaper of the enterprise, Vremya RussNeft.
It was planned to start drilling wells a year ago, but the work was postponed due to the crisis in the fuel market: the fall in oil prices and production restrictions under the OPEC+ agreement. Oil workers had to cut their investment program and suspend a promising project. In March, RussNeft is going to implement its plans. Currently, equipment and materials are being delivered to the field, and drilling rigs are being installed. At the oil production site, oil workers plan to build production facilities: an oil treatment plant and an energy complex. The head of the branch noted that the field is promising, but it will not be easy to extract oil from it.
Earlier, URA.RU wrote that RussNeft will invest more than 40 million in the implementation of socio-economic programs and charitable projects in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Indigenous peoples of the north will be allocated compensation payments in the amount of up to 24.5 million rubles.
