Saipem Will Carry Out Marine Engineering Work in Saudi Arabia Worth about $1 Billion
The work will be carried out under two contracts at the Marjan, Zulur and Safaniya oil and gas fields.
Saipem has signed two contracts in Saudi Arabia as part of its current long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco. The total value of the two contracts is about $1 billion.
Under the first contract, Saipem will carry out the design, purchase, construction and installation (EPCI) of three operational block modules, lay 33 km of underwater rigid pipelines with diameters of 12 and 16 inches, as well as 34 km of underwater power cable at the Marjan oil and gas field.
The second contract includes similar works (EPCI) for the installation of three support bases of the frame structure and five operational block modules, laying 22 km of underwater rigid pipelines (16 inches), 5 km of underwater flexible pipelines and 35 km of underwater power cables. The work will be carried out at the Zuluf and Safaniya oil fields.
To carry out the work within the framework of these two projects, Saipem uses its marine vessels that operate in the region.
The assembly of equipment for the projects will be carried out at the site of Saipem Taqa Al–Rushaid Fabricators, the Saudi shipyard of Saipem, in order to expand and develop the capabilities of local capacities.
