Salym Petroleum Development: Appoint Alexey Govzich as CEO
On 20 April 2015 Alexey Govzich has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Salym Petroleum Development (SPD). He took over the position from Oleg Karpushin who will continue his career in Shell.

I am sure that SPD will achieve new outstanding milestones, remaining an important fuel & energy sector player in the region and a reliable partner for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug in the area of social investment.”
Alexey Govzich has a 16-year experience in oil & gas industry. In 1998-2007, he worked in leading service companies – Schlumberger and Baker Hughes, and rose from assistant driller to engineering manager. In 2007-2010, Govzich led the division of Smith International (a Schlumberger subsidiary) for Russia and CIS. Since March 2010, Alexey has worked for Gazprom Neft as Head of Drilling & Workover Department. Within the period of his work in international and Russian companies, he participated in complex projects on Atlantic shelf, in Alaska, Western Canada, and Russia.
Alexey Govzich graduated from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Oil and Gas Well Drilling, and Harvard Business School (USA) in General Management. Govzich is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), and the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC).
