Senergy announces high profile appointment director at fast-growing SDS business

Fast-evolving Senergy Development Solutions (SDS), which specialises in oil and gas facilities engineering and total project delivery, has positioned itself to harness the increasing market demand for its services by appointing a third director to its leadership team.
Well-known industry figure Rob Fisher joins fellow directors, Murray Douglas and Stuart McAuley at SDS which is part of global-leading energy services company Senergy. He will underpin and lead SDS’s subsea, pipeline and construction management business and further build on the company’s track record in engineering and project management.
Mr Douglas said: “Rob is a well-respected figure within the subsea industry and his depth of technical knowledge will strengthen our position in this area as we consolidate and expand our service offering. He not only has a working knowledge of the subsea construction sector but also brings considerable experience of project integration from conceptual engineering through to construction and commissioning.
“We expect that Rob’s considerable energy and innovation in project delivery will significantly bolster the value we are able to generate for our clients and be pivotal in driving forward SDS’s business strategy.”
Mr McAuley added: “Rob’s signing underlines our commitment to establishing a team of the highest calibre which matches Senergy’s reputation for excellence in its other operating spheres – subsurface, reservoir engineering, geoscience and wells.”
Rob joins Mr Douglas and Mr McAuley on the SDS leadership team following more than 14 years with Technip where he started as a geotechnical engineer before going on to hold a number of leadership, operational and technical roles. He was latterly UK business unit project manager with responsibility for managing complex subsea project delivery.

Among high-profile global developments that he has played a pivotal part in are Total’s Islay project in the Northern North Sea which saw pioneering technology breakthroughs being achieved for the industry. This included the world’s first subsea implementation of Technip’s reelable, electrically trace heated pipe-in-pipe (ETH-PIP) innovation to prevent blockages by hydrates and wax deposition.

Rob, 40, said: “Joining the SDS team is an exceptional opportunity especially when the company is growing at such an impressive rate. SDS is unique in two areas; firstly, providing a combination of project delivery experience and in-house engineering capability and secondly, delivering integrated projects with Senergy’s established subsurface and well operations. As a result, SDS aims to help clients reduce the time from project start to operation.

“This is an exciting position to be in and I look forward to working with the SDS team to develop the company and realise our ambitious vision of becoming a global leader in integrated project delivery.”

Rob is also a non-executive board director for ITF, a technology facilitator for the global oil and gas industry, and has helped the organisation expand into Perth, Kuala Lumpur and Houston. In addition to this, Rob is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).
SDS has grown rapidly since Senergy launched the Aberdeen-headquartered division last August and has established a wide portfolio of clients in UKCS as well as supporting international expansion with projects in Norway, Denmark, Kuala Lumpar and the Middle East.
SDS anticipates creating at least 30 further jobs by the end of 2012 in engineering disciplines such as process, structural, and subsea as well as project management, as it continues to grow its international profile throughout Senergy’s extensive network of hubs around the world.
The business’s increasing portfolio of clients includes major blue chip and international operators, national oil companies (NOCs), leading services companies and independents.

Senergy, which was established in 2005, employs more than 500 people worldwide across its Aberdeen headquarters and through a network of global offices in the UK, Norway, the Middle East, Australia, South East Asia and the Americas.

The company delivers fully integrated project and asset development services across the energy industry, and has rapidly emerged as a global leader in diversified energy services through organic growth and a series of acquisitions.

Senergy’s services encompass alternative energy solutions, geosciences, reservoir engineering, geohazard assessment, marine site surveys, rig positioning, wells engineering and operations and project management.
