  • Sercel SeaPro Nav Selected by Seabird Exploration

SeaPro Nav, Sercel’s integrated navigation system for all in-water seismic equipment, has been selected by Seabird Exploration as the master system for two vessels in its marine seismic fleet, the Harrier Explorer and the Aquila Explorer.

Seabird Exploration is the fourth industry player to choose SeaPro Nav as a master integrated navigation system. The Harrier Explorer has been successfully deploying SeaPro Nav on its seismic projects since the start of 2012 and the system is currently being installed on the Aquila Explorer.

The Sercel SeaPro Nav integrated navigation system offers the most flexible and innovative multi-vessel architecture, allowing easy operation and fast adoption of new marine seismic acquisition techniques.

With SeaPro Nav and the other members of its navigation portfolio, including SeaPro Bin, SeaPro Current and SeaPro Resolve, Sercel has the most complete navigation offering available today, providing real-time and offline binning features, an advanced sea current forecast tool for 4D repeatability and automatic data processing and analysis.

Graham Knight, Department Manager Technology, Seabird Exploration, said: “Seabird’s deployment of SeaPro Nav on its vessels is a natural progression, further cementing our commitment to the use of Sercel products across our fleet. Our first SeaPro Nav system was successfully deployed and received the full support of the SeaPro Nav team at Sercel.”

Pascal Rouiller, CEO, Sercel, said: “With over ten seismic vessels currently equipped with our advanced integrated navigation system, SeaPro Nav is proving to be the new-generation system of choice for 2D, 3D, 4D and multi-vessel marine seismic operations.”
