  • Severstal Steel Solutions Purchased New Equipment to Improve Quality Control of Steel Structures

Severstal Steel Solutions has added a new ultrasonic flaw detector to its stock of equipment for quality control of finished products. The device will allow you to perform faster and more accurate analysis.

“Over the past three years, the product portfolio of our company has changed in favor of a larger volume of complex metal structures – for investment projects of metallurgy, wood chemical and oil and gas industries. These customers have higher requirements for quality control. The purchase of an ultrasonic device, which complements the fleet of existing equipment, will ensure the required quality in new projects,” says Vasily Vinogradov, Director of Severstal Steel Solutions.

A key feature of the new equipment is the use of phased array technology, which greatly simplifies the control of objects with complex geometry, as well as places that are difficult to access for mechanical scanning. At the same time, experts note that this technology can replace x-ray control in some market segments. Employees of the enterprise have already been trained and use the equipment in their work.
