  • Shell to Merge LNG and Upstream Business

Shell will merge its oil and gas and LNG operations as part of changes made by CEO Wael Sawan to the structure of the energy giant.

The new division, which brings together Shell’s most profitable operations, will be led by Exploration and Production Director Zoya Yujnovich, Shell said in a statement on Monday.

As part of an internal restructuring, renewable energy operations will be merged with Shell’s oil refining and marketing operations, the company said.

The changes will take effect July 1.

“Fewer divisions means more collaboration, discipline and speed, which will allow us to focus on improving business performance and generating high returns for our investors,” Waelem Savan said in a statement.
