Sibur and Siemens AG Sign Cooperation Agreement
The Russian petrochemical group Sibur and the German company Siemens have signed a cooperation agreement in Moscow today. The signing ceremony was attended by Executive Director of Sibur, Vladimir Razumov and the President of Siemens in Russia, Dietrich Moeller.
The agreement aims to develop partnerships for the implementation of joint projects. The parties plan to cooperate in gas processing and petrochemical industries, in the field of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.
The document reinforces the companies’ intention to carry out the equipping and reconstruction of gas-processing and petrochemical facilities with SIBUR Technologies “Siemens”, in particular, gas turbine and steam turbine equipment, advanced compressor systems, automation systems and software. The agreement also provides for joint work in the field of equipment, reconstruction and modernization of energy facilities,the introduction of effective solutions for electricity production at Sibur’s industrial sites.
The agreement is valid until September 2016 and can be further extended by mutual agreement.
“The signed agreement on cooperation is an indication that our work with such a large Russian company as Sibur comes to a new level. Today we took an important step that will begin new projects in the energy and petrochemical industries. Modern and efficient solutions for gas processing, petrochemicals and power generation are one of the main activities of Siemens, and we see a great need for such equipment on the domestic market. In order to be closer to our Russian customers, we already have a number of localized production sites. This are production of the drives in St. Petersburg, output of power transformers in Voronezh, the assembly of medium voltage equipment in Dubna. I’m sure that the use of the modern production equipment of Siemens will enhance the productivity of enterprises of Sibur Group, sustainable development and the solving strategic objectives of our Russian partner,” said the president of Siemens in Russia, Dietrich Moeller.
