  • Sierra Leone Welcomes Lukoil’s Participation in Field Development

Freetown would be happy about Lukoil’s participation in the development of oil fields in Sierra Leone, Mohamed Yongavo, the republic’s ambassador to Russia, told RIA Novosti.

“You can’t do business in oil production, ignoring the existence of Lukoil or Rosneft. We would be happy to have Lukoil involved in oil development in Sierra Leone,” he said.

The ambassador noted that at the last Russia-Africa summit, he said that Moscow and Freetown should return to an agreement on a working group on energy.

“We had a meeting in 2020. I believe that Russia has a lot to offer in the field of electricity,” he said.
