SOCAR-AQS Completed Drilling of a New Well in the Shallow Waters of Gunashli
The drilling company SOCAR AQS drilled a sidetrack well from platform No. 8 at the Gunashli field.
“The depth of the well was 2985 meters. The well was successfully drilled to the Fasilya productive formation and transferred to the Azneft production association of SOCAR,” SOCAR AQS said in a statement.
According to the company, the well was put into operation with a high flow rate. Currently, work on its development continues successfully.
“Drilling lateral branches of wells is very important for increasing the production rate of most wells that have been in operation for many years, in particular, for restoring production of more than 300 wells in the Gunashli field. This will serve to ensure the duration of oil production in the country, increase the productivity of wells, as well as increase the efficiency of drilling,” said SOCAR AQS General Director Samir Mollayev, whose words are quoted in the press release.
SOCAR AQS was established in 2007 by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Nobel Oil Services and Abşeron Qazma Şirkəti as a joint venture providing comprehensive drilling and well management services. Nobel Oil Services is the main shareholder of SOCAR AQS.
The main activity of SOCAR AQS is the provision of services and performance of work on the design and planning of wells, drilling oil and gas wells, drilling directional wells, drilling horizontal wells, well development, well workover, sidetracking and branched well drilling.
