SPD and KHMAO Government Signed 2014 Cooperation Agreement
Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD) and the Government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra signed a Social and Economic Cooperation Agreement. The document to determine the priority areas and parameters for the development of the partnership between the parties in 2014 was signed by Governor of Yugra Natalia Komarova and SPD CEO Oleg Karpushin. The total amount of SPD’s social investment in 2014 will equal to 80 million rubles.
‘Signing of the new agreement is an important phase in the development of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation between our company and the Okrug Government. Since the first days of the development of the Salym group of fields, and during the 10 years of Salym project implementation, SPD has been making an adequate contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, and has been a reliable partner for the Government of Yugra. During the 10 years of cooperation, SPD has spent over 750 million rubles on the development of the social sphere and charitable events in the Okrug. I am sure that we will be able to continue applying our joint efforts to successfully solving many urgent challenges that the Okrug and the industry are currently facing, in the future as well,’ SPD CEO Oleg Karpushin told.
Key partnership areas in 2014 will be programs in education, healthcare, ecology, entrepreneurship, road safety, as well as implementation of best Enhanced Oil Recovery practices, exploration, environmental activities, energy efficiency, and strengthening the region’s scientific and technical potential.
