  • Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha: Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, the producing asset of Rosneft Oil Company, celebrates 20 years since its foundation. The enterprise is developing the Central Block and the Kurungsky license area of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha was founded in 2000. The enterprise started commercial exploitation of the deposit in 2013. At the same time, the main infrastructure facilities of the oil field were launched, including facilities for the preparation, transportation and delivery of oil to the main pipeline “Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean” (ESPO).

In 2016, an international cluster was formed on the basis of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, where Rosneft owns 50.1%, a consortium of Indian companies (consisting of Oil India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited) – 29.9% and 20% by BP.

For 20 years, the enterprise has turned from a small oil field into a large, high-tech production with the production of more than 4.8 million tons of oil per year. The development of the Srednebotuobinskoye field is carried out using advanced technologies. Production growth in the course of field development is ensured by drilling new wells, taking measures to optimize oil production, implementing a complex of geological and technical measures (GTM), as well as optimal operation and expansion of infrastructure facilities.

Since the beginning of development, nine exploration wells have been drilled (their success rate was 100%), more than 1,500 km2 of 3D seismic were completed, and two new fields were discovered. For the first time in Russia, a decision was made on the full-scale development of oil deposits in the gas cap zone of the field with multilateral wells. As part of the replication of multilateral wells, well No. 2087 was drilled, which has the longest drift along the reservoir onshore. Its total length is 12,792 meters, and its penetration through the collector is 10,310 meters. This year Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha produced the 15 millionth ton of oil.

The enterprise is one of the largest taxpayers and employers in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), successfully implements social and charitable projects in the territory of its presence, and also pays special attention to the environmental safety of production and the preservation of the unique nature in the region of its activity.
