Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha Produces the 20 Millionth Ton of Oil

The Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha company, which is part of the oil and gas production complex of NK Rosneft, has produced the 20 millionth ton of oil since the beginning of commercial operation of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field.

Achieving a high cumulative production rate has become possible thanks to the use of innovative technologies and an increase in drilling rates – since 2014, the company has drilled more than 1.5 million meters of rocks. One of the main methods of production stimulation used at the enterprise is the construction of multilateral wells with up to seven sidetracks.

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha’s record in drilling multilateral wells was the unique Birch Leaf project: a well with 15 sidetracks and a total reservoir length of more than 10,000 meters. An innovative technical solution made it possible to increase drilling productivity by 10 times.

The project won first place at the All-Russian competition “New Idea-2020”, was highly appreciated by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and became the owner of the State Prize of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) named after Yu. Prokopyev.

The increase in production rates at the Srednebotuobinskoye field was achieved thanks to the creation of the necessary infrastructure. In a short time, a central oil gathering station, a gas turbine power plant, an acceptance point in the city of Lensk, and main oil pipelines were built at the field. Comfortable conditions for the personnel have been created in the constructed shift housing complex.

Thanks to the construction of new production facilities, the increased capacity of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha for the production of liquid hydrocarbons has reached more than 13.8 thousand tons per day.
