Tatneft Brought the Disposal of Associated Gas to 98.1%
In 2023, the company invested 1.34 billion rubles in minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
Tatneft in 2023 invested 18.9 billion rubles in environmental protection. The growth of this indicator is associated with the modernization of networks and water supply and sewage facilities at the Tango refineries, the technical transmission of compressors, and the installations of torch gas recycling.
The news agency “Devon” learned about this from the annual report of the group. In addition, work was carried out on a combined installation of sulfur production, treatment facilities, etc.
In addition, the company for 2021–2023 reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 1.1 million tons of CO2 -EKV. The costs of implementing these measures in 2023 are estimated at 1.34 billion rubles. At the same time, the coefficient of use of associated petroleum gas over three years increased by 2 percentage points. – up to 98.13%.
Within the framework of a comprehensive program for the disposal of associated petroleum gas, a number of projects were implemented. So, in Tatneft increases the power to clean the PNG from hydrogen sulfide; Expand gas collection systems with oil production facilities. Pipelines from domestic polymeric materials are introduced. This allows you to exclude PGN leaks.
The company launches automatic gas pumping systems and captures of light fractions of oil products. ULF systems avoid the release of hydrocarbon gases from tanks and tanks into the atmosphere.
Pipelines are also laid for the return of liquid condensing in the cavity of gas pipelines. This liquid can lead to blockage of gas pipelines and an unscheduled torch gas burning. New technology makes it possible to avoid these problems.
Tatneft also retains leadership in the Russian register of climatic units. The company registered 7 projects in the register with the total potential for reducing emissions of more than 200 thousand tons of CO2. Among them are the construction of fishing gas pipelines for the transportation of the PGN, the reconstruction of the landing pumping station of the Elehovneft NGDU.
Since 2015, the Tatneft group records the emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Since 2019, the enterprise has been a member of the UN Global Treaty. Within its framework, the company intends to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Intermediate target indicators involve a decrease in carbon intensity by 14% by 2025 and 30% by 2030 compared to the base 2021.
