TATNEFT Is Among The Leaders In Registered Climate Projects
The company successfully verified the results of two more climate projects.
8,178 carbon units were issued and credited to Tatneft’s account in the national register of carbon units. These can be purchased on the carbon market to offset your carbon footprint.
According to the Russian register of carbon units, since September 2022, 17 climate projects to reduce CO2 emissions have been registered, 5 of them are in Tatneft’s climate portfolio.
The first of five climate projects Tatneft is implementing at the booster pumping stations of the NGDU Bavlyneft is associated with the expansion of the gas collection system and is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions from gas flaring. The second project involves modernizing the flare system of the Minnibaevsky gas processing plant and reducing the consumption of dry stripped gas. The third is being implemented at BPS-5 of NGDU Elkhovneft, from where associated petroleum gas will be sent to a processing plant to obtain elemental sulfur and commercial gas from it.
Two new validated climate projects also aim to reduce the carbon footprint of oil and gas production facilities. One of the projects is being implemented at production facilities in the Almetyevsk region. The second involves the construction of a gas pipeline from a booster pumping station in the Zainsky district and the direction of associated petroleum gas for processing.
Tatneft will continue to implement the climate agenda. A systematic approach to decarbonization issues based on the modernization of production and the introduction of modern technologies is aimed at achieving carbon neutrality.
