  • Tatneft is Moving Away from Associated Gas Flaring

Tatneft won the nomination “For the climate project” of the All-Russian competition “Business Flagships: Dynamics, Responsibility, Sustainability – 2023”. The award was presented to the director of the Tatneft representative office in Moscow, Radik DAVLETSHIN. This was reported by Neftyanye Vesti.

At the federal level, Tatneft’s climate project, implemented in the Aznakaevsky district of Tatarstan, was noted. Its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

To do this, the company will stop flaring associated petroleum gas at the flare unit of the booster pump station (BPS). All associated petroleum gas is sent via pipeline for processing to the Minnibaevsky gas processing plant (part of the Tatneftegazpererabotka Administration).

The climate project was developed by specialists from the Center for Industrial and Environmental Safety and JV Tatneft-Dobycha of Tatneft. The climate project was validated by MIP NES ProfExpert.

Tatneft holds a leading position in the number of climate projects in the national register of carbon units, which began operating on September 1, 2022.
