TATNEFT Sets into Action the Educational Research for Schoolchildren of Tatarstan
The educational research “In Search of the Carbon Footprint” will be held in autumn in seven districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Two and a half thousand teenagers will receive personal small research cases, which would allow them to be able to independently calculate the carbon footprint in their own lives and come up with measures to reduce it.
The educational research is organized by TATNEFT together with the team of the All-Russian project “Image of the future.” Research activities will be carried out in Bavlinsky, Aznakaevsky, Leninogorsky, Almetyevsky, Nizhnekamsky, Bugulminsky and Zainsky districts from September to November.
The study results will be presented at the school conference “In Search of the Carbon Footprint” to be held in Almetyevsk at the Almet Public Center on November 10.
The carbon footprint is the totality of gas emissions associated with the climate change. TATNEFT pays significant attention to reducing the carbon footprint of the Company’s production processes and aims at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
At the same time, the Company is actively engaged in the environmental education of children and youth, and the “In Search of the Carbon Footprint” project will be another step in this direction, allowing the children to independently study the issues of the climate change and the greenhouse gas impact on it, as well as to realize their own role in preserving the ecosystem of the entire planet.
