Tatneft: Unveils Well 29 Novo-Elkhovsky Discovery Monument
The unveiling of the monument to well No. 29, which was a discovery well of the largest Novo-Elkhovsky oil field: the second-largest deposit of the Republic of Tatarstan, took place at TATNEFT Company.
The ceremonial event took place with the participation of the TATNEFT Company’s management headed by General Director Nail Maganov and it was timed to coincide with the 55th anniversary of the establishing the ”Elkhovneft” oil and gas production division of. Well No. 29, drilled in 1954, delivered 600,000 tonnes of oil over the years of operation. This well has performed its function as of today and has been transferred to the monitoring category.
Speaking to the audience, Nail Maganov pointed out that unveiling of such monuments was a tribute to history, veterans of the Company and to a difficult profession for the oilman. The monument will remind future generations of the glorious pages of the Tatarstan oil history.
The planned events also included opening of a new museum dedicated to the 55-year history of NGDU Elkhovneft.
