Technologies Developed in 2020 Will Bring Gazprom Neft over 7 billion Rubles
In 2020, Gazprom Neft created 13 new technological products to improve the efficiency of hydrocarbon prospecting and production. The economic effect from the implementation of these solutions can be 5 times higher than the volume of investments for their development and amount to over 7 billion rubles.
Digital and technological products created by the Gazprom Neft Science and Technology Center will allow the company to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of projects for exploration and production of traditional and “difficult” oil. New solutions will be in demand in field development and cargo delivery, seismic exploration, search for hidden oil-bearing intervals and enhanced oil recovery of mature assets, construction of high-tech wells and hydraulic fracturing operations. They will provide the company with about 200 thousand tons of additional production until 2025, and will also be commercialized in the external market.
As part of the technological strategy of Gazprom Neft, 38 innovative solutions have already been developed and are being introduced into the activities of the company’s subsidiaries. These are IT products, equipment, new materials and reagents, new approaches to the search and development of hydrocarbon deposits. The technologies, initially created by order of specific subsidiaries of Gazprom Neft, are used in many of the company’s projects and are also introduced to the external market.
In total, Gazprom Neft’s technological project portfolio until 2025 includes over 100 products. The total income ** from their sale in the long term is estimated at 130 billion rubles, the volume of additional production – at 110 million tons of oil equivalent, and the increase in reserves – almost 600 million tons of oil equivalent.
“Working on technologies remains one of the most profitable business areas for the company, because the ultimate goal of any innovation is to make processes more efficient, to monetize additional resources through involvement in production. However, the creation of the technology itself is not the end of work on the product. When the tests are completed, we are faced with the task of adapting the development to the conditions of the enterprises where it is to be applied, and to make sure that it improves business processes and gives the necessary economic effect. Our internal and external partners are involved in solving this problem together with the development teams. Therefore, the business value of technologies created in the STC is determined not only at the development stage, but also during replication. The 2020 metric demonstrates that our teams create high-tech products,Alexey Vashkevich Director for Technological Development, Gazprom Neft
