Tengizchevroil Reported an “Incident” at Tengiz on March 11
An incident occurred at the Tengiz field on March 11, the press service of Tengizchevroil (TCO) told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
“TCO confirms that on March 11, 2026, an incident occurred at one of the facilities at the Tengiz field. There were no casualties, and the company is conducting a root cause assessment in accordance with established procedures,” the statement said in response to the agency’s request.
“TCO does not comment on specific details of its production activities,” the company said when asked to comment on the impact of the incident on operations.
Oil reserves at Tengiz amount to 3.1 billion tonnes. The participants of Tengizchevroil LLP are Chevron Corp. (50%), ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Ventures Inc. (25%), Kazakhstan through KazMunayGas (20%), and LUKOIL (5%).
