The Advantages of Transferring Viscous & Super-Viscous Oil to Group III AIT are Named
The transfer of fields with viscous and extra-viscous oil to the third group for the payment of tax on additional income from production (API) will allow increasing production to 50 million tons by 2035, said Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in an opinion article in the Energy Policy magazine. “Since 2019, the share of production using extra viscous oil has increased from 9 to 52%, or about 250 million tons of total oil production in Russia. Transferring fields with viscous and extra-viscous oil production to the third group of extra viscous oil will additionally provide up to 50 million tons by 2035,” – he said.
