  • The Authorities of the KhMAO Announced the Development of New Deposits in the Arctic Zone

    The authorities of the KhantyMansiysk Autonomous Okrug plan to develop new mineral deposits in the Berezovsky and Beloyarsk districts. This was stated by Acting Governor Ruslan Kuharuk during a meeting on support for the oil and gas industry.

    The head of the region focused on the development of new territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation Berezovsky and Beloyarsk districts. The resource base of these areas is about 166 million tons of oil and 30 billion cubic meters of gas from current recoverable reserves, as well as more than 270 billion cubic meters of free gas resources. This characterizes the territories of these two municipalities as promising for geological exploration, the website of the district government says.

    At the meeting, Kuharuk stressed that the importance of hard-to-recover reserves is now growing. They account for about 24% of the total oil production in Yugra, and by 2040 this figure may reach 50%.

    In order to realize the existing natural, scientific, industrial potential, increase the investment activity of the Berezovsky and Beloyarsk districts, it was proposed to make a number of changes to the law On Subsoil, Kuharuk is quoted on the government website.

    Previously URA.RU reported that the authorities of the KhMAO named the best oil company. For the second year in a row, Surgutneftegaz received the title.
