The Economic Effect of Samotlorneftegaz from the Use of an Innovative Oil Recovery Method Exceeded 210 Million Rubles
The Samotlorneftegaz company, which is part of the production complex of NK Rosneft, has increased the efficiency of oil production thanks to the use of an innovative method of integrated mathematical modeling. Over the five years of the project implementation, digital analogues of ten production sites of the Samotlor field were created, which made it possible to increase daily production by 0.5% and obtain an economic effect of 214 million rubles. The technology has been developed and is being implemented jointly with specialists from the Rosneft Corporate Research Institute in Samara.
Digitalization in all areas of the Company’s activities is one of the key objectives of the Rosneft-2030 strategy. The introduction of digital technologies increases the efficiency and speed of decision-making along the entire production chain.
The uniqueness of the development lies in its mathematical algorithms and proposed optimization measures based on a digital dynamic model created in specialized software. The model reflects the whole complex of factors that affect the operation of wells, the distribution of flow rates and pressure in well pads, the regime of flow pressure inside pipelines. The original characteristics of 647 pumps, 270 motors, 32 units of cable products have been entered into the data system.
The digital integrated model allows for an in-depth analysis of the operation of the mechanized well stock based on a targeted assessment of the production potential of wells, taking into account the impact of infrastructure on their work. As a result, without additional capital expenditures, the efficiency of optimization measures is increased to ensure an increase in oil production and further maintain the achieved level.
The project for the integrated optimization of oil recovery processes at Samotlorneftegaz is a logical continuation of the development of the Intelligent Field concept, which the company was the first to implement in the domestic oil industry in 2013. The system provides full remote control over production and technological facilities and processes at the field.
Currently, preparations are underway for replication at other Rosneft enterprises of a technology aimed at optimizing oil recovery processes.
